We showed up in support of Intro 29 at City Hall! This bill, championed by Council Majority Leader Amanda Farías, calls for first responders to be trained in recognizing signs of traumatic brain injury (TBIs) in survivors of domestic violence. This is a critical step in connecting survivors to the care they need.
AAFSC Budget Advocacy Manager Naima Dahir testified at the City Council Health Committee hearing to speak to why this matters in our communities. Watch Naima’s testimony above and catch media coverage from the day by clicking here.
We want to thank Majority Leader Farías for leading this initiative and to Health Committee Chair Lynn Schulman for convening the hearing!
