BKLYNER: Senator Schumer, Support New York’s Immigrants During COVID-19! – OP-ED

July 20, 2020

The health and prosperity of each of us depends on the health and prosperity of all of us. That’s the reality the COVID-19 public health crisis has made plain. The U.S. House of Representatives responded by passing the HEROES Act, an important legislation that includes critical provisions that would improve health care access and economic supports for immigrant families.

In partnership with the Protecting Immigrant Families campaign, the Arab-American Family Support Center is urging Senate leadership to push for timely passage of this package and to ensure our immigrant families are not left behind.

On Monday, July 20, the Senate returned from its summer recess and will begin negotiating this bill. They have just two weeks to finalize the details of the HEROES Act before their next recess. Now more than ever, we need to raise our voices and demand that Congress deliver a bill that protects the health and prosperity of immigrant families.

Take 1 minute to ask your Senator to do the right thing today and push this bill forward.
